Failing schools programs help students stuck in or assigned to persistently failing public schools. These programs allow students to attend the private or public school of their parents’ choice, providing immediate educational options to students. Eight of the nation’s fifty private school choice programs are failing schools programs.
Voucher programs allow education dollars to "follow the child," enabling parents to select private schools and receive state-funded scholarships to pay tuition. These scholarships are usually targeted to students who come from low-income families, have special needs or currently attend a failing public school. Research has demonstrated that vouchers increase student achievement, boost graduation rates, and help public schools improve. They also lead to high parental satisfaction rates.
Education savings account programs create personal accounts that store a child’s state education dollars. With ESAs, parents can use education dollars to pay for school tuition and fees, textbooks, tutoring and special therapies and other approved expenses, so a child's education is truly customizable. Participating families are able to choose the best education for their children through multiple providers.

A RealClear Opinion Research survey of 2,122 registered voters shows that support for educational choice is strong, and that a significant portion of parents are more likely to pursue homeschooling opportunities after the lockdowns end. The results show that 40% of families are more likely to homeschool or virtual school after lockdowns, and that 64% support school choice and 69% support the federal Education Freedom Scholarships proposal.

The COVID 19 pandemic is exposing what many have known for decades: Our education system is broken. But the situation also presents us with a silver lining: the opportunity to uncover the damaging influences and restore education.
The results of the 2019 National Assessment for Educational Progress, often called the “Nation’s Report Card,” came out recently and California’s scores once again tanked, with one of the likely causes being the national Common Core standards and aligned curricula.
The NAEP exam, which is given every two years, tests students in fourth and eighth grade, and is measured on a 500-point scale with student performance categorized as advanced, proficient, basic, and below basic.

The California Board of Education implemented progressive sex and gender education curriculum in public schools across the state, regardless, in some cases, of parental knowledge or consent.
Progressive groups, including Planned Parenthood, collaborated on AB-329 in 2016 and the recently introduced Health Education Framework in May as highlighted by a video created by the conservative group, Our Watch.
Both these pieces of education legislation mandate that school districts require sex ed and encourage students to question their parents on sexual topics – topics explored in the kindergarten through 12th grade sex education curricula implemented in California schools.

Willfully blind to the reality of the fiscal impact of Covid-19, the teachers union is demanding billions from the already beleaguered American taxpayer.
What are charter schools, who runs them and how are they different from traditional public schools?
Charter schools are public schools that get funding from the state and have greater flexibility in hiring, curriculum, management and other aspects of their operations. Unlike traditional public schools that are run by school districts with an elected school board and a board-appointed superintendent, most charter schools are run by organizations with their own self-appointed boards.

Many of the speakers and panelists have stated that they believe parents have too much autonomy and that “children’s rights” are not being adequately protected by the state.
Now that children are home, still doing school work parents learning a hard lesson. In this article, the lesson learned is that government education has not helped our kids from learning to write. From conversations I have heard parents shocked that kids can not do basic math. We already know that like the old Soviet Union, our government schools teach revisionist history. The good news is that this crisis will cause people to take kids out of government schools—either to private schools or charter schools.
The better news is that parents will not vote for more money for government schools until they are reformed and return to education facilities not indoctrination centers.
